Occasionally, depending on the condition, we may help older children.

Neurocognitive Behavioral Rehabilitation (NCBR)

Neurocognitive Behavioral Rehabilitation (NCBR) provides comprehensive rehabilitation interventions that address cognitive impairments, emotional regulation difficulties, and behavioral challenges resulting from neurological conditions or injury.

Intervention is designed to improve the impact of neurocognitive psychological disorders that may occur in children with:

  • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

  • Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)

  • Developmental challenges

  • Learning disabilities

  • Movement disorders

  • Neurogenic problems

  • Intellectual Disability

  • Specific Learning Disorders, such as Dyslexia

  • Congenital or hereditary syndromes (such as Tourette, Tuberous-Sclerosis)

  • Coexisting disorders with Autism (MS, juvenile diabetes, blindness, leukemia, etc.)

NCBR aims to improve the overall quality of life, optimize physical, cognitive, emotional, and social well-being, foster independence, and promote a meaningful and satisfying life.

Play Therapy for children with autism in Michigan and Brooklyn

Play Therapy

Play Therapy helps children and adolescents express their emotions, process their experiences, and develop coping skills. It involves the use of play as a means of communication, allowing children to express themselves in a safe and supportive environment.

During play therapy, we provide a range of toys, games, and other materials for the child to play and create. We may also use storytelling, role-playing, and other techniques to engage the child in play and address a variety of issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, behavioral problems, and developmental disorders.

The goal of play therapy is to help children develop a better understanding of their emotions, improve their social skills, and develop effective coping strategies.

Behavioral Therapy for children with autism, ADHD, anxiety, mood disorders and more

Behavioral Therapy

Behavioral Therapy, also known as behavior modification therapy, is a type of psychotherapy that focuses on modifying maladaptive or problematic behaviors. It is widely used to change behavior by teaching individuals new skills and reinforcing positive behaviors.

Behavioral therapy may be used to treat a variety of mental health conditions, including anxiety disorders, mood disorders, substance use disorders, and obsessive-compulsive disorder. It may also be used to treat specific behavior problems, such as attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), oppositional defiant disorder (ODD), and conduct disorder.

We may combine other forms of therapy, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy or psychoeducation, to address the underlying psychological factors contributing to the problematic behavior.

The goal of behavioral therapy is to help individuals replace maladaptive behaviors with positive ones.

Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy for children NY and MI

Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a type of psychotherapy that focuses on changing negative thought patterns and behaviors that contribute to mental health problems. CBT is based on the idea that our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interconnected and that changing one can positively impact the other.

This therapy may include a combination of techniques, such as cognitive restructuring, behavior modification, and problem-solving skills to modify thoughts and behaviors.

CBT is used to treat a variety of mental health conditions, including chronic pain, insomnia, and other physical health conditions.

The goal of CBT is to help individuals develop more positive and adaptive thought patterns and behaviors.

Auditory Stimulation and Movement Therapy (ASMT) for children with Autism

ASMT is a unique treatment developed by Dr. Linden to provide/facilitate developing new neural pathways to assist improvements in neurological functioning in children who may have or may develop autism. ASMT interrupts a habituated response and introduces a new, more functional one.

Research in the neurosciences has demonstrated that individualized ASMT immediately affects cognitive functioning and emotional adjustment in individuals with: auditory and non-auditory function impairments (movement, language, cognition) due to injury or disease of the human nervous system: TBI, Stroke and Autism. The elasticity of the brain can then change and/or modify its cellular to organic state.

The goal of neurocognitive rehabilitation for autistic children is to make significant gains in their cognitive and behavioral functioning, improving their ability to interact with others, communicate effectively, and lead fulfilling lives.
